Happier

Blogging Again

I used to use this app called Happier. It was an absolute joy. A community of people who practised daily gratitude. No matter what was happening in our lives (and some it was very bad – everyone goes through difficult and challenging times), we would take a little time each day to find three things that made us smile – or just pause and remember that there were good things in the world, if smiling was too difficult. We would post photos or just a few words, and it was the most positive online experience I’ve ever had. 

That app was shut down after about three years. It wasn’t making any money, and the company that owned it moved on to other things. The community moved over to Facebook, but it was never the same, so I didn’t stay. 

But I’ve missed that practice of posting three lovely things each day. It was so grounding and comforting. So I’m going to try to do it again by myself. Just here. Even if no one reads it. 

And there’s no time like the present.
